Holla!

So last night I posted a summary of what I considered the key events of my 2013. Now I’m back to talk about my New Year’s Resolutions as well as what I expect for the coming year. The title of this post comes from the lyrics to a Pixie Lott song. I felt like it fits the whole mood of a starting a ‘new year’ although it applies to every ‘new year’.

New Year’s Resolutions

#1: To get more people watching reality TV shows. I shall continue in my position as the ambassador or spokesperson and convince my classmates and friends of how entertaining reality shows truly are. At least, I know that I will have a few classmates watching shows like Top Model and Survivor next year. That’s more than I can ask for, considering how my secondary school classmates had no idea even what the reality TV genre was.

#2: To be happy and not let the petty things get in the way of my happiness. If you’ve read my posts you would know that I’m an over thinker and a worrywart. And add into the mix my short fuse, the smallest thing often sets me off thinking or pissed. Although I definitely feel that compared to 2012, I’ve made some progress in 2013, I still have a long way to go. Part of being happy is just being yourself and doing you. That’s another thing I have to work on. I am myself. But in 2014, I really strive to be more independent and thereby happier in the process.

#3: To upload more videos on the Youtube Channel. When we started, I had the mindset that if we weren’t getting any views, to not waste our time, making the videos. But a few videos later, I realised that these videos are always going to be there to remind me of the fun times I have with my friends and classmates. So they’re definitely worth making. Some of the videos even crack me up and something must be really funny if I laugh at myself because I’m pretty self-conscious.

What do I expect for 2014?

New Faces: I’m worried about not getting to meet new people since the next two years will be spent with the same class. 2013 was awesome because there were changes and I got the chance to be a part of three different groups of people. Secondary school, work and then polytechnic. But in 2014, seeing my classmates every week for the next 12 months would mean a fixed dynamic and it can get boring. Not that my classmates are boring, trust me. But everyone gets tired of certain people eventually and I’m sure people will get tired of me too. So I don’t know about the whole new faces part of 2014. I mean, I could join a CCA and it might provide some variation. Other than that, I’m going to have to be a social butterfly if I was going to meet more people. And let’s be honest, that’s not going to happen.

New Things: I’m definitely looking forward to trying out new things. From trying out different food to going on different adventures with friends. There’s still plenty of activities that I haven’t tried. Living in Singapore is not boring as long as you know what there is out there. Paintball, Zorb ball, FreeingSg and so much more! Not just activities like these but probably also doing volunteer work. I’ve been wanting to go on a charity walk for ages! Shall make it happen in 2014.

New Dreams: My dream is going to be the same. I know I want to be successful in the media industry.  Whether I want to be a journalist or a producer/director, I don’t really know. So it’s not like I’m going to achieve this main dream over the duration of the next 12 months. But maybe it would be more crafted and specific as time passes. I also look forward to making some of these dreams a reality through certain assignments.

So that’s about it. Happy New Year everyone! May the odds be ever in your favour, next year.

PEACE OUT.

P.S: I’m also looking forward to discovering more about myself, in general. Wasn’t sure where that fit in above, so I just didn’t mention it.  Also my friend and I made a video regarding New Year’s Resolutions for our Youtube Channel. Yes, the one that I mentioned in Resolution #3.  So spare us about two minutes and give our video a try!
